The five rules that cause 90% of suppressions

  1. Pure white background on the main image — RGB 255,255,255, no shadow, no gradient.
  2. Product fills ≥85% of the frame. Tiny products on big canvases get flagged.
  3. No text, logos, badges or watermarks on the main image.
  4. Minimum 1000px on the longest side (zoom needs it); 1600–2000px recommended.
  5. Show the actual item only — no props that aren't included, no multiple colour variants in one shot.

Category style guides add more (apparel has 3:4 variants, shoes need a specific angle), but these five are universal.

"White" is a number, not a feeling

Most suppressions we see come from backgrounds that are almost white: a studio sweep that reads 248–252, or a soft drop shadow under the product. Amazon's checks look at pixel values. The fix is to replace the background rather than brighten it: cut the product out and place it on a true-white layer.

Fill the frame without distorting

Scale the product to about 85–90% of the canvas height, centred, with even margins. Never stretch. Pixvero's Image Studio has a "fit with margin" mode that keeps proportions while filling the canvas — and the Amazon 2000×2000 preset applies it in bulk.

Beyond Amazon
